Welcome!

Hello and welcome to my blog! My name is Kate Osmond and this is my official introduction post for my journey through EDC3100.

Firstly, I will tell you all a little bit about myself. I am in my third year of studying my Bachelor of Education, specializing in Early Childhood. I study on-campus at Springfield and have thoroughly enjoyed the first half of my degree. I’m excited to be on the downhill stretch now.7244885a0ac0ecfbd0b1527c154fe1f8

In my free time (Free time? What’s that?) I like to run with friends, go hiking, or go to the gym. I also like to eat food. Nuggets and pizza mostly.

Anyway, back to business. I have always adored children since I was a child myself and I already knew back then that I wanted to work with these little beings. Throughout my schooling I always looked up to teachers and admired the way in which each of them individually taught. There was this one teacher I had in 6th grade though, who truly inspired me to go down the teaching path. She taught everything with such enthusiasm  and there wasn’t a lesson she designed that wasn’t exciting and engaging. You see, by the time I had reached grade six, I wasn’t overly phased by school anymore and just wanted the day to be over with. But this teacher made me want to stay. She was the ‘Miss Honey’ from Matilda. She was that teacher that made me completely and utterly excited to be at school each day.

Now to the reason why I am here. This semester I am studying EDC3100 as mentioned earlier. This course is all about ICT and how teachers integrate it into their pedagogy. Each week I will post anything and everything about my journey through this course.

I look forward to seeing how this blog turns out.

Bye for now,

Kate 🙂
